Active Ingredient
750 g/kg Halosulfuron-methyl
Group B Herbicide
ProSedge 750DF is a systemic herbicide that provides selective post-emergent control of susceptible sedge weeds.
For best results, apply when the target weeds are actively growing and have reached the appropriate growth stage specified on the label.
Controls Nutgrass & Mullumbimby Couch
ProSedge 750DF is registered for the control of:
- Nutgrass (Cyperus rotundus)
- Mullumbimby Couch (Kyllinga brevifolia / Green Kyllinga)
Nutgrass
Apply when new leaf growth has reached a minimum of 5 cm.
Mullumbimby Couch
Apply when new leaf growth has reached a minimum of 2 cm.
The weeds should be actively growing at the time of application for best results. Follow-up treatments may be applied where sufficient new growth warrants re-treatment, in accordance with the label.
Suitable Lawn Types
ProSedge 750DF is registered for use on established turf including:
- Bentgrass
- Buffalo Grass
- Carpet Grass
- Common Couch
- Hybrid Couch
- Durban Grass
- Kikuyu
- Perennial Ryegrass
- Queensland Blue Couch
- Tall Fescue
This makes ProSedge 750DF suitable for a wide range of warm-season and cool-season Australian turf varieties.
Important Turf Restriction
ProSedge 750DF should only be applied to well-established turf.
Use on newly seeded, sodded or sprigged turf that is not well established may result in turf damage or delayed establishment. Turf weakened by weather conditions, intensive use or cultural practices such as scarification, coring, aeration or topdressing may also be damaged or recover more slowly.
Application
Spot Treatment – Handgun or Knapsack
For spot treatment:
1.3 g ProSedge 750DF per 100 m²
A label example is to mix 1.3 g in 10 L of water and apply the 10 L mixture evenly over 100 m².
Boom Spray
The registered turf rate is:
65–130 g/ha
Use the higher rate for dense infestations.
Apply using a boom spray fitted with suitable flat-fan nozzles and at least 80 L of water per hectare.
Non-Ionic Surfactant
ProSedge 750DF must be applied with a non-ionic surfactant to ensure uptake.
For a 1000 g/L non-ionic surfactant, the technical guide specifies:
120 mL per 100 L of water
For handgun or knapsack applications:
12 mL per 10 L of water.
Always check the current product label and the surfactant manufacturer’s directions before application.
Application Tips
For best results:
- Apply to actively growing Nutgrass or Mullumbimby Couch.
- Treat Nutgrass when new leaf growth is at least 5 cm.
- Treat Mullumbimby Couch when new leaf growth is at least 2 cm.
- Use the higher rate for dense infestations.
- Ensure spray equipment is correctly calibrated.
- Apply the required amount evenly across the treatment area.
- Delay mowing for 2 days after treatment.
- Avoid treating newly established or stressed turf.
- Follow the label regarding follow-up treatments where sufficient new growth warrants re-treatment.
Always read and follow the current APVMA-approved label before use.
